Our hearts are saddened by the loss of a much loved and respected Roman. At 106, Leon Michael Saliba was the oldest known LAHS Alumni. Born on February 22, 1911, he passed away peacefully on June 3rd, surrounded by his children in Toluca Lake, CA.
After graduating with honors from Los Angeles High School in 1928, he joined his uncle’s construction business. Later, he established his own insurance brokerage firm where he prioritized quality service for his clients. He had many successes throughout his life. As a matter of fact, to all who knew him, he was a highly admired and respected mentor.
Like a proud Alum all nine of Saliba’s children attended Los Angeles High as well. He always had his alma mater in his thoughts, he helped the school any way he could. In fact, the highly revered and generous Saliba family has requested that contributions may be made in memory of Leon Michael Saliba to Alice G. Harrison Trust, LA High, 4650 West Olympic Blvd., Los Angeles CA, 90019 or to St. Nicholas Cathedral, 2300 West Third St. Los Angeles, CA 90057.
